This opportunity is ideal for a Chartered Mechanical Design Engineer seeking the next step into leadership, or for an experienced Design Manager looking to broaden their career with a pathway into international markets, including the US.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design engineering team, aligning engineering capability with company strategy across manufacturing, sales, and distribution.
* Deliver projects from concept through to completion, managing resources, feasibility, and compliance.
* Drive innovation by developing new product designs, enhancements, and researching alternative technologies.
* Oversee installations worldwide, ensuring compliance with CE, EU, and US standards.
* Protect intellectual property through design registrations and patents.
* Act as a technical leader, guiding and mentoring engineers while being hands-on where required.
* Represent the business at customer sites, exhibitions, and industry events.
Experience Required
* Chartered Engineer status (essential)
* BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
* Strong 3D CAD capability (SolidWorks preferred).
* Background in machinery, containment, or industrial design.
* Previous experience in a design leadership/management capacity.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a commercial mindset.
