DWR is one of the largest specialist multi-disciplinary referral centres in Europe. Located in Cambridgeshire, our brand new, state-of-the-art hospital has a team of specialists that cover a wide range of disciplines, including a large ECC team in addition to cardiology.
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Cardiology Specialist (Board-Certified) or Residency-Trained Clinician to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, referral-based environment, delivering exceptional care to patients with complex cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with cardiovascular diseases, including echocardiography, ECG interpretation, and interventional procedures.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (internal medicine, surgery, anaesthesia) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Offer clinical guidance and mentorship to interns, residents, and nursing staff.
* Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
* Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
* Engage in continuing education and maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in veterinary cardiology.
Requirements
* Board Certification (ECVIM or ACVIM in Cardiology) OR completion of a recognised cardiology residency program.
* Proven clinical experience in managing complex cardiac cases.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to client care and team collaboration.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced referral hospital environment.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in interventional cardiology procedures (e.g., pacemaker implantation, balloon valvuloplasty).
* Interest in teaching and mentoring veterinary professionals.
* Research involvement or willingness to contribute to clinical studies.
