Elford Demolition & Remediation Ltd are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our growing team, supporting projects across demolition, remediation, and construction works. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance across multiple sites.

About THE ROLE:
Description
As Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of the company's H&S strategy, providing expert guidance to project teams and senior management. You will play a hands-on role on site while also shaping policies, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage all Health & Safety matters across demolition, remediation, and construction projects
· Develop, implement, and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and management systems
· Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, CDM Regulations, and industry best practice
· Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments (RAMS)
· Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing reports and corrective actions
· Deliver H&S training, toolbox talks, and briefings
· Liaise with clients, principal contractors, regulators, and enforcing authorities
· Support pre-construction planning and tender submissions with H&S input
· Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across all levels of the business

· This is a full-time position, and hours of work will be 45 hours per week paid:
07:30hrs to 17:00hrs Monday – Friday.
· This will also involve daily travel and possible working away from time to time as deemed
necessary for the needs of the business.
About YOU:
· Proven experience in a similar environment.
· Strong knowledge of high-risk activities (demolition, asbestos, contaminated land, temporary works, plant)
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
· Confident working across multiple sites and engaging with operatives and management
· Full UK driving licence
· Ability to use IT systems.
· Knowledge in Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
· Self-motivated and proactive.
· Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
