Our Pause Southwark Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Practitioner to join our dynamic team and help make a real difference.
About the Role:
Pause Southwark works with women who have experienced - or are at risk of - repeated removals of children from their care. As a Practitioner, you will:
* Use intensive, flexible, and assertive outreach to build trusted relationships.
* Co-develop care plans and deliver bespoke, creative interventions to support personal goals.
* Promote effective use of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) as part of the Pause model.
* Work closely with key local services including health, housing, and mental health.
* Apply trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches and ensure high-quality case recording and data management.
* Safeguard adults and children, contribute to reflective practice, and promote continuous learning.
This role involves managing women’s support budgets and requires flexible working, including occasional work outside normal office hours.
This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will bring passion, resilience, and professional insight, alongside:
* A relevant qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. social work, mental health, education, criminal justice, youth work, or counselling).
* Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed practice.
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs, including substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health challenges.
* Confidence in case management and advocating on behalf of vulnerable clients.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and inspire.
* An understanding of professional boundaries and a commitment to reflective practice.
You must also be willing to travel and attend national Pause learning events.
