Senior Project Management Training Consultant
Parallel is a specialist project management training company based in Reading. We are committed to delivering high-quality training to our corporate and public learners, helping them succeed in their chosen project management roles. We aim to make training accessible at a reasonable cost.
We are a market leader, holding a significant share in the Association of Project Management (APM) market segment, offering a full range of qualifications from Fundamentals to Chartered status.
Reporting to the Head of Training Delivery, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the training delivery capabilities to all clients
2. Delivering project management training both in person and virtually
3. Developing and updating accredited training materials
4. Designing and developing bespoke project management courses and supporting materials in collaboration with clients
5. Liaising with the APM
6. Supporting business development activities
This is a senior role aimed at projecting the Parallel brand into the marketplace, setting strategic directions, and growing revenue while maintaining quality standards.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about growth, nurturing talent, and development. You should have a relevant technical background in project management training, with exposure to sectors such as defence, built asset consultancy, insurance, charities, rail, and energy. The role requires frequent travel across the UK and beyond to meet client needs.
Candidates should possess credibility and a strong academic background. A degree is desirable, along with professional qualifications such as APM-PMQ, PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes, or PMI. Holding or working towards APM ChPP is preferred. A competitive salary package is offered.
Key requirements include:
* Experience in delivering project management training (as an internal trainer or external consultant)
* Excellent presentation and communication skills, both face-to-face and online
* Proficiency in designing bespoke training programs tailored to client needs
* Strong customer service orientation
* Ability to promote Parallel’s services through blogs, podcasts, and workshops
* Willingness to travel for client training sessions
* Membership of the APM
* Experience with APM as a volunteer, trainer, or SIG group member
* Chartered Project Professional status (preferred)
