Role Summary
Leads development and execution of plans to realise the treasury vision and strategy, including management of significant teams, and making a significant impact on Finance function outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Leads development and execution of plans to realise the treasury vision and strategy, and making a significant impact on Finance function outcomes
* Owns relationships with the shareholder Board sub‑committee (Capital Structure Committee)
* Oversees treasury and settlement operations in support of strategy and in accordance with approved policies and procedures
* Owns management of external relationships with the most significant banks and Treasury vendors; supports the Senior Head of IR in managing messaging and relationships with bond investors and rating agencies
* Oversees and is ultimately accountable for Arqiva’s treasury and liquidity position, having a significant impact on Finance function outcomes
* Manages the implementation of treasury standards, policies and procedures to ensure risks are properly addressed, and contributes to good corporate governance
* Ensures that all treasury policies and frameworks are evolved in line with the vision, maintaining financial integrity and compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
* Supports the Corporate Finance Director in developing Arqiva’s capital structure strategy, optimising the balance of debt, equity and hybrid instruments to support long‑term investment requirements, credit metrics, covenant compliance and shareholder return objectives
* Oversees and ultimately accountable for execution of capital markets and financing transactions (including refinancings, new issuances and amendments) managing lender investor and credit agencies relationships during transaction documentation to ensure efficient access to liquidity on competitive terms and maintaining alignment with rating agencies expectations
* Operates as an SME within own field of expertise, continuously developing expert knowledge of emerging trends and changes in treasury principles and practices and sharing this knowledge with team members as relevant
* Manages self & task: role models Arqiva’s culture goals with the team, building respect and credibility; sets a high‑performance bar and challenges the team to deliver sustainable results, by developing the skills and capabilities of the team and focusing on outcomes
* Manages relationships & communications: connects, collaborates & leads communication transparently, balancing face‑to‑face and virtual interaction, with own team and across the business to encourage cross‑functional understanding, agreement and knowledge sharing
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in WBS structures
* Accounting principles
* Financial Data, Processes and Systems
* Financial & Data Analysis and insight
* Financial Controls, compliance and risk
* Forecasting, planning and budgeting
* Risk and assurance
* Statutory and external financial reporting
* Treasury operations, debt service and liquidity management
* Debt capital markets fundraising
* Debt Ratings process and covenant compliance
* Derivatives management
* Stakeholder management
* Extensive experience in treasury or a related field with knowledge of Treasury operations, derivatives management and Debt Capital markets
* Extensive experience in developing and executing plans to realise treasury strategies for large, complex organisations
* Experience of significantly improving treasury value in a large, complex organisation
* Fully qualified (or with equivalent experience) in a relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or Treasury qualification (e.g. ACT) is advantageous
