Job Description How you can make your mark You can make your mark as Legal Counsel by providing a wide variety of legal support to our UK based organisation and the contract management on marine infrastructure and dredging projects of Boskalis in the UK. You will be working from our Fareham office, Hampshire, UK. Your responsibilities as Legal Counsel: · Advising and supporting on legal issues during tender process, including assessing tender documentation such as the proposed terms and conditions. · Drafting and reviewing agreements related to cooperation, contracting, procurement, and chartering of vessels. · Providing support in arbitration cases and legal proceedings. · Providing legal support during contract negotiations and projects in the execution phase. · Monitoring and following up on relevant developments in legislation and case law. · Following project award, providing contractual support during the execution and closing out of (joint venture) projects. · Reviewing documents in relation to specific project(s), such as joint venture or consortium agreements, main contract and subcontracts. · Drafting and reviewing of letters, variation orders and claims in relation to ongoing Projects. · Proactively contributing to all required contract and/or subcontract negotiations during the execution phase of a Project. · Liaising with the insurance, procurement, and treasury departments. · Increasing contractual awareness within our organisation and project teams and supporting and developing expertise within the legal and contract management department. Your qualities and experience: You would fit as Legal Counsel if you have: · A master’s degree in Law, preferably in construction law. · At least 3 years of working experience as a Legal Counsel, lawyer or legal advisor in an international construction project environment. · Knowledge of construction law and of international construction contracts such as FIDIC and NEC contracts is strongly preferred. · Strong communication skills and a business-oriented approach. · Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. · Pro-active, accurate and a team player. · Flexibility with travelling.
