Job description
To assist in providing quality care, education and play opportunities for children aged 0-11 years, providing equal opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Childcare & Development, Safety & Wellbeing, Teamwork & Communication, General duties.
* To participate as a member of a team of adults working together to create an environment which promotes children’s development and learning.
* To be a key person for a group of children, to observe and assess their learning, plan for their individual needs and be responsible for making contributions to records of children’s development.
* To foster children’s growth, self-esteem and independence.
* To contribute to the planning and preparation of activities.
* To assist in communicating effectively with parents/carers of children you care for.
* To share responsibility for children’s personal care.
* To share cleaning duties.
* To work according to Giggles & Wiggles policies and procedures.
* To have a commitment to personal professional development.
* To prepare for and receive supervision, using it as a tool for development.
* To attend training as agreed with the Giggles & Wiggles Manager.
* To undertake such other duties as required by the Giggles & Wiggles Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Minimum Level 2 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development OR equivalent
* Must be flexible between hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday as and when required
* Must be willing to attend occasional training outside normal working hours
Desirable Skills
* Paid experience working in a childcare setting
* Valid Safeguarding training certificate
* Valid Paediatric First Aid certificate
* Valid Level 2 Award Food Safety certificate
