Overview
ALTEN UK is seeking an experienced Site Performance Engineer to join a major nuclear energy construction project. The role involves coordinating between construction, quality, and engineering teams to develop, validate, and execute the Shift S+1 Installation Plan and support on-site construction activities. The position is based in Bridgewater, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain the Shift S+1 Installation Plan in collaboration with Construction Management, Site Supervision, Quality, and Engineering teams.
* Ensure planning accounts for building restrictions, material availability, approved documentation, and workforce resources.
* Lead the Shift S+1 Validation Meeting and Shift Kick-off Meeting to align teams on execution priorities.
* Contribute to long-term planning (16WLA) and coordinate schedule updates.
* Develop and maintain contingency “backup work” plans to mitigate delays or blockers.
* Conduct daily site walks to monitor installation progress and identify blockers (e.g., access, materials, documentation, workforce).
* Coordinate with Construction Managers, Site Teams, and Quality/Engineering functions to resolve issues quickly and minimize productivity loss.
* Ensure the validated Shift S+1 Plan is adhered to and that deviations are justified.
* Collaborate with Site Engineering and Design Back Office to support technical issue resolution; keep contingency actions updated.
* Track daily production output (planned vs actual) and lost time/root causes; analyze productivity trends and blockages.
* Liaise with Quantity Surveyors to document external stoppages and assess claimability; lead the Monthly Onsite Construction Progress Report with clear analysis of performance.
Qualifications
* 3–7 years of experience in planning, coordination, or site engineering within construction or energy projects.
* Strong understanding of installation sequencing and construction logistics.
* Proficiency in planning tools and reporting systems (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
* Experience working with construction teams, quality, and engineering functions.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills across disciplines.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret productivity and performance data.
Desirable
* Experience in nuclear, energy, or large infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress reporting.
* Exposure to field engineering interfaces and problem resolution processes.
