With a strong focus on operational excellence and customer service, they are looking to strengthen their transport function with the addition of an experienced Transport Supervisor at their Hayes site.
Job Description
The Transport Supervisor will play a key role in the day-to-day management of transport operations, ensuring an efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery service. Responsibilities will include:
Overseeing daily transport operations, including route planning, vehicle allocation, and driver schedulingManaging and motivating a team of drivers to deliver high performance and excellent customer serviceEnsuring compliance with all relevant transport legislation, including driver hours, tachograph regulations, and health & safety standardsMonitoring KPIs and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement across service, cost, and efficiencyHandling escalations, delivery issues, and customer queries in a timely and professional mannerSupporting fleet management, including maintenance scheduling and vehicle checksCollaborating with warehouse and operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end logisticsContributing to budget control and cost optimisation initiativesThe Successful Applicant
The ideal Transport Supervisor candidate will bring a strong operational background within transport or logistics, alongside a proactive and hands-on management style:
Proven experience in a transport supervisory or team leader roleStrong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance requirementsExperience managing drivers within a fast-paced distribution environmentExcellent communication and leadership skillsAbility to problem-solve and make decisions under pressureProficiency with transport management systems (TMS) and basic IT toolsCPC qualification (desirable but not essential)What's on Offer
