Full-time contracts in the dog walking world are rare — and we're offering one right now
Run Doggy Run is looking for a committed, long-term team member to join us as a professional dog walker. The role is based in Abingdon, so you'll need to live within a 5–10 minute drive. We may also consider applicants from Didcot or South Oxford.
Why Join Us?
* £23,800 per year (full-time contract)
* 37.5 hours per week (typical week 35–40 hours)
* Full 28 days paid holiday
* Bonuses for extra evening or weekend work (pet sitting, home boarding)
* Company van and all equipment provided (no need to use your own car)
* 6–8 weeks full training with our team
* A genuinely fun, active job where no two days are the same
Hours
* Roughly 9:15–9:30 a.m. start, finishing around 4–5 p.m.
* Hours may vary slightly week to week
What the Job Involves
* Collecting dogs, group countryside walks, and drop-offs
* Walking in meadows, fields, woodlands, lakes – never boring pavements
* Caring for pets in their own homes (puppies, cats, and other small animals)
* Driving a company van throughout the day — you won't be sat for long distances doing nothing, as it's broken up with regular collections, drop-offs, and plenty of walking
* Walking around 15 km a day – expect to get muddy, wet, and fit
This is not an easy role – you'll be responsible for groups of dogs, often off-lead, in all weathers. But if you love the outdoors and animals, it's one of the most rewarding jobs out there.
What We're Looking For
* Experience with dogs (preferred)
* Good understanding of dog behaviour and training
* Physically fit, reliable, and consistent
* Comfortable working outdoors year-round
* Friendly and confident with people as well as dogs
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* DBS check (or willing to get one)
