Overview
* Overall responsibility for implementation of sustainability strategy including management/reporting of targets and KPIs
* Work with the senior leadership team to develop and progress policy targets and sustainability commitments
* Day to day technical support (LCAs, ISO support) and internal training (annual refreshers, updates and new employee starts, monthly sales sustainability training sessions)
* Support the development of quantitative and qualitative targets across all departments in relation to sustainability and support the evolution of the increased sustainability focus
* Oversee management of environmental and carbon reporting as well as the annual publication of the sustainability report
* Be an advocate for ESG and Sustainability and keep abreast of best practice and innovations from within the packaging sector, the wider corporate landscape and consumer drivers
* Oversee creation and development of articles and whitepapers
* Bring innovation, horizon scanning and change ideas in sustainability and supporting the development of the business case and presentation to senior management
* Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations and standards (EPR, RAM, Plastic Packaging Tax)
* Manage sustainability certifications and reporting requirements
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address sustainability issues and opportunities in operations, supply chain, and products/services
* Communicate with sustainability partners about collaboration opportunities and relevant topics
* Previous experience in a Sustainability Lead / Consultant position
* Proven experience in sustainability strategy development
* Experience of CDP and EcoVadis submissions
* Familiarity with sustainability certifications (e.g. EcoVadis, B Corp, ISO14001) and regulations such as the Plastic Tax, EPR, RAM and CDP.
* Passion for sustainability and a drive to effect positive change.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Well organised and a confident demeanour.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Horsforth, Leeds, offering a salary of £30,000-£32,000 (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits, including 23 days holiday + bank holidays, a generous bonus scheme, and free on-site parking.
