Director of Business Development – Development Services, Northern Europe
Remote role however, requirements to ideally live in United Kingdom or Sweden.

This role will drive growth for Meribel’ s CDMO services across Northern Europe. This role focuses on acquiring new customers and managing current customer relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies for our contract manufacturing and development services.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the CDMO landscape in Europe, regulatory knowledge for EU markets, and a proven track record in both manufacturing and development services sales within the pharmaceutical sector.
WHAT?
* Identify and Develop Opportunities with Prospects and Targets: Lead business development efforts to secure new clients in designated region, including prospecting, lead qualification, presentations to pharmaceutical and biotech firms, proposal development and contract negotiation
* Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with prospective and current customers, understanding their requirements and aligning them with our CDMO capabilities.
* Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue, margin and booking targets by developing and executing a strategic sales plan for the region.
* Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with project management, quality assurance, manufacturing and technical teams at the sites to ensure seamless proposal execution, contract negotiations, onboarding and project execution for new clients.
* Reporting and CRM Management: Maintain detailed records of sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasted revenue in CRM tools, providing regular updates to senior management.
* Market Intelligence: Collaborate with central commercial excellence team to analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape across the EU to position services effectively and respond to market demands for targets and prospects.
YOU?
* Education: Bachelor ’ s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales, specifically within CDMO or pharmaceutical manufacturing services. Particular expertise in development services, formulation development and analytical services is required.
* Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, with an understanding of the companies and investors in the designated region.
* Skills: Excellent sales, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce). Languages: Proficiency in English; additional languages depending on region (e.g. German, French, Spanish) are necessary.
