About the Role You’ll play a vital part in delivering our mission: tackling homelessness, widening opportunity and championing fairness. Whatever your specialism, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and empowering environment where people can thrive and move forward with confidence. As a part time Young People Support Worker at our service in Oldham, you’ll work directly with young people aged 18–25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, helping them build confidence, develop independence and move towards brighter futures. You’ll provide personalised one‑to‑one support, run group sessions and use your creativity, empathy and communication skills to help each young person set meaningful goals and overcome barriers linked to mental health, neurodiversity, language and life transitions. You’ll bring a proactive, solution‑focused approach to managing your caseload, ensuring safety and wellbeing, promoting active involvement in the service and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined‑up support. This role suits someone enthusiastic, inclusive and resilient, with strong listening skills, safeguarding awareness, digital record‑keeping ability and a commitment to empowering young people to thrive. Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a Part-time ( 18.5 hours per week ), permanent role. In this role, you will: • Provide one‑to‑one coaching and group sessions that build confidence, independence and life skills • Create tailored support plans using strengths‑based assessments and active listening • Support young people facing mental health challenges, neurodiversity, language barriers and complex needs • Advocate for access to services such as education, training, health and benefits • Identify safeguarding concerns, manage risk and maintain professional boundaries • Build positive, trusting relationships through clear, inclusive and solution‑focused communication • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined‑up support • Maintain accurate digital records, track progress and contribute to a safe, inclusive service About You Support young people aged 18–25 to build confidence, develop life skills and move towards independence using strong communication, empathy and solution‑focused coaching, while delivering one‑to‑one and group support, managing a varied caseload and maintaining clear digital records. Bring safeguarding awareness, resilience, professional boundaries and inclusive practice to ensure safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies—ideal for someone proactive, people‑focused and motivated by helping vulnerable young people progress and thrive.
