We're looking for an experienced Transport Broker / Trader to join our high-performing operations team in Wakefield. What You'll Get £34,000 starting salary, rising to £38,000 after successful 6-month probation Performance-based bonus scheme (eligible after 3 months) On-call allowance : £100/week (every 5-6 weeks) 22 days holiday 8 bank holidays Paid breaks included in working hours (30 mins/day) Auto-enrolment pension scheme (after 3 months) Modern office environment with supportive leadership Real opportunities for progression and long-term development What You'll Do Plan and allocate loads daily, balancing service and profit Use freight exchange platforms to secure additional work Negotiate rates confidently with hauliers and subcontractors Build lasting relationships with customers and carriers Proactively manage delivery performance and resolve issues fast Maintain accurate records in our TMS ( Mandata ) Contribute to a collaborative, results-driven team culture What We're Looking For You're a confident communicator and natural problem-solver who thrives under pressure. Essential Experience & Skills Previous experience in transport brokerage or subcontract haulage Strong negotiating skills and commercial mindset Solid knowledge of UK geography and general haulage operations Familiarity with transport regulations (drivers' hours, WTD, etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport software Experience using TMS (Mandata preferred) WR Logistics are the 1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
