We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our engineering team as a Maintenance Engineering Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a trade, gain formal qualifications, and build a long-term career in a growing industry. About the Role As an apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to maintain, repair, and improve production machinery on a busy food packing site. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems while following a structured training programme – both on the job and through college. What You’ll Be Doing * Assist in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine inspections on machinery and equipment. * Support engineers in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults such as pumps, gearboxes, motors, and valves. * Help with machine installations, part replacements, and overhauls. * Learn and follow health and safety procedures, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO). * Keep accurate records of work completed and parts used. * Participate in team meetings and support continuous improvement projects. What We’re Looking For * A genuine interest in engineering and how things work. * Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Commitment to completing both the practical and academic sides of the apprenticeship. * GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science preferred (grades 4/C and above).
