 
        
        The Works Delivery Manager is the senior leader for the Eastern and Anglia route reactive works. The role covers overall responsibility for the delivery of the work bank, including HSEQ, quality and financial performance of reactive contracts (with support from the QS). Key duties involve coordinating all aspects of reactive and PPM works to meet client expectations, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and SISK HSEQS policies, maintaining accurate documentation and handback, and finding opportunities to add value or enhance earnings. The role is based at the Stansted office with regular travel required.
Responsibilities
Clients
 * Liaise with customers, their representatives and all stakeholders on operational issues.
 * Develop and strengthen valuable business relationships.
 * Respond to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
 * Manage key stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
Project Delivery
 * Lead and coordinate geographically located or skilled-based supervisors and operatives.
 * Oversee subcontractor delivery across routes.
 * Implement HSQE controls, including CPP/WPP and TBS.
 * Ensure all work is set up safely and securely following client and SISK processes.
 * Actively participate in HSEQS management and challenge sub‑par practices on site.
 * Plan and coordinate internal and external resource levels for timely, safe, quality execution.
 * Monitor progress and identify improvement areas.
 * Sample work for quality before client presentation.
 * Arrange rectification of defects and update the client and site team.
 * Manage open orders to keep KPIs within limits.
 * Support the team on high‑priority/reactive works.
 * Assist with booking possessions, isolations and other access forms.
Reporting
 * Attend and document reactive, subcontractor and internal meetings.
 * Produce an achievable programme, monitor milestones, and report weekly to client and line manager.
 * Escalate issues promptly to the line manager.
 * Maintain all project records and data systems for client access.
Risk
 * Secure all necessary approvals to progress without risk.
 * Conduct monthly risk reviews for high‑risk activities with the Contracts Manager.
 * Review buildability and design methods to deliver an achievable project, including temporary works.
 * Identify non‑conformances and implement corrective action.
 * Notify QS of any matters related to extra payment or cost implications.
 * Close out issues raised by safety, quality and environmental reports and audits.
People
 * Manage the reactive team, supervise, develop staff and ensure competency.
 * Live the SISK values of Care, Integrity and Excellence in all activities.
 * Provide business support to site supervisors and operations teams.
 * Act as a SISK ambassador at external events.
 * Lead and manage sub‑contractors and in‑house delivery teams.
 * Be an inspiring role model for the wider team.
Commercial
 * Support the commercial team with external commercial requirements.
 * Update project programmes to support prolongation and EOT claims.
 * Assist the commercial team with internal forecasting and performance.
 * Help prepare quotations and adjudications within ICRM documents.
 * Follow company protocol for engagement, approval and signing of invoices/payments.
Experience
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to audience and style.
 * Minimum 5 years in a project‑management environment within a national or regional contractor, with a record of high HSEQS standards.
 * Strong analytical skills.
 * Organised with good time management and proactive planning.
 * Ability to get the best out of individuals, teams and trade contractors.
 * Manage safety performance in line with the SISK safety code.
 * Manage people performance in line with the SISK HR code.
 * Know and apply company commercial procedures to all activities.
 * Comprehensive knowledge of all required trades, codes of practice and site requirements.
 * Delivery focused and performance driven.
 * Computer literate.
Qualifications
Essential
 * Working towards an academic or professional industry‑related qualification.
 * CSCS for Managers, SMSTS.
 * First Aid at Work certificate.
 * CDM Awareness.
 * Driving licence.
Desirable
 * Degree or Diploma in a construction‑related subject.
 * Personal track safety.
 * Mandatory training in line with the SISK Rail Training Matrix.
