About the Role
Document Controller role at Balfour Beatty plc. Location: Motherwell / Edinburgh, Liberton Community Campus. The role focuses on managing and controlling all project document flow, ensuring information management aligns with ISO 19650 standards and supports teams and subcontractors in using the Common Data Environment (CDE).
Key Responsibilities
* Manage document control requirements for the project, ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 standards.
* Identify contractual requirements related to document control.
* Utilise Balfour Beatty’s internal SharePoint to ensure accurate documentation from pre-construction through to completion and archiving.
* Manage review workflows, liaising with design managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
* Provide training and coaching to project teams on document control procedures and CDE use.
* Ensure stakeholders receive the latest project information promptly and accurately.
* Provide feedback to design and project managers on documentation issues.
* Oversee business archiving to ensure efficient and accessible storage.
* Support continuous improvement within information management systems.
* Champion Balfour Beatty’s values and maintain a focus on Zero Harm.
What You Need
* Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Knowledge of ISO 19650 file naming standards.
* Experience working with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
* Previous experience in document control, ideally in a construction or engineering environment.
* Basic understanding of BIM.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and support others.
* Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* A collaborative team player, determined to see tasks through to completion.
