About Us
DevonPathways is an alternative provision supporting young people with SEND, SEMH and additional needs. We provide a therapeutic, relationship-led environment where learning is engaging, meaningful and often takes place outdoors.
We are proud of our ‘classroom without walls’ approach, using green spaces, land based learning and practical experiences to re-engage young people in education.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Outdoor Learning Coordinator to lead and develop our outdoor provision.
You will oversee all green spaces, manage a small team and work closely with senior leaders to design bespoke learning packages that support engagement, wellbeing and progress.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop all outdoor and green space provision.
2. Design an inclusive and engaging outdoor curriculum.
3. Line manage Forest School Lead and Deputy Farm Manager.
4. Hold weekly team meetings and ensure consistency.
5. Work with SLT to develop tailored provision packages.
6. Deliver and lead CPD and staff training.
7. Ensure safeguarding and health & safety compliance.
8. Provide regular feedback and reports to SLT
About You
9. Experience in SEND, SEMH or alternative provision.
10. Strong leadership and communication skills.
11. Passion for outdoor and therapeutic learning.
12. Flexible, adaptable and solution-focused.
13. Committed to safeguarding and supporting young people
Desirable: Forest School Level 3, land-based learning experience, teaching/youth work qualification, CPD delivery experience.
Additional Requirements
14. Occasional transport of young people (pick-up/drop-off).
15. Flexibility to support training and provision needs.
