The Successful CNC Turner (Vertical Borer / VTL) - Package:

£41,000 per annum / £20.29 per hour

2-week rotational shift pattern:

Days: 06:00 – 15:45, Monday to Thursday
*
Afters: 15:45 – 01:30, Monday to Thursday

The Successful CNC Turner (Vertical Borer / VTL) - Duties and Responsibilities:
*
Set and operate a Megaturn 900 Turning Lathe
*
Use and control CNC programs in line with company procedures
*
Read and interpret CNC code for machine setup and operation
*
Understand and apply setup parameters, including datum setting, tool length, and wear offsets
*
Prepare machines with appropriate work holding and tooling
*
Work within a structured manufacturing plan to maximise machine utilisation
*
Ensure high-quality output and maintain standards of Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
*
Conduct precise measurements using Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, and CMM equipment
The Successful CNC Turner (Vertical Borer / VTL) - Person Specification:
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Aerospace/Automotive industry in a similar role
*
Apprentice trained (preferred) or demonstrable relevant experience
*
Skilled at working to production timelines in a busy manufacturing environment
*
Familiar with SOPs and company-specific documentation
*
Self-motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented
*
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
*
Able to manage workload effectively and prioritise under pressure
