Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in nurturing and developing young children's learning and growth in a safe and stimulating environment. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to manage a classroom effectively, and a commitment to fostering a love for learning in children.
This role is 44 weeks per year. Salary will be paid pro rata over 52 weeks
Duties
· To implement and co-ordinate the provision of high-quality care to children in a safe and stimulating environment.
· To ensure all area of the minimum standards are met in relation to Health and safety child protection partnership with parents.
· To delegate to your team so you are empowering them to take on certain roles.
· To provide leadership in developing and integrated programme which improves the ability to learn by encouraging stimulating play which enhances the physical, emotional & social, language and intellectual development of children using as many natural materials as possible.
· To ensure that all areas where children are will be prepared on a daily basis in accordance with a curriculum-based environment to cover all areas of learning especially outdoor learning.
· To develop daily programmes in advance taking into account the different ages and developmental stages of the children and using observation of children to inform same.
· To review plans of work in collaboration with team members so that the needs of children are catered for.
· To keep completely confidential any information regarding children their families or other information which is learnt as part of the job.
· To provide Support & Supervision, Annual Appraisals for designated staff.
· To carry out team meetings.
· To provide feedback to parents on their child's development through verbal feedback in October and transition report in June
· To liaise with other professionals within the team in order to ensure all needs of the family are met especially the speech and language team.
· To administer all medications, special diets and First Aid according to centre guidelines.
· To carry out ongoing observations, assessments and record keeping of all children. To ensure their individual needs are met and used to inform planning and introducing the themes of reggio.
· To work in partnership with parents, families, local communities and other partner agencies by involving them on an ongoing basis in the work.
· To comply with all Sure Start's record keeping.
Experience · A minimum of 2 years paid working with 0-4 years olds in a early
years setting.
· At least one years experience of supervising staff/volunteers/
Students.
· Experience of working on partnership with families.
· Experience of Observations, Assessments, Record keeping and Curriculum planning.
Qualifications
. A Third level relevant qualification
· BA Early Years Degree
· NVQ 5 or working towards your Level 5 CCLD
· Btec in Nursery Training/Childhood studies.
Teacher certificate (Early years).
