Pay Rate: £13.70 per Hour

This role includes a mix of day and night shifts -

Day Shifts - 7:25 am - 7:45 pm
Night shifts - 7:25 pm - 7:45 am

Weekend & Bank holiday work included.

Company Description

Our Healthcare Division offers a variety of services including Mental Health, Addictions, Brain Injury and Rehabilitation and Recovery treatment plans.

Job Description

We’re seeking individuals experienced in a similar setting to supervise colleagues, administer medication, lead support planning, manage petty cash and client funds, and act as the point of contact in the absence of site leadership. Good numeracy skills are essential as will need to manage monies. No formal care qualifications required; full training provided, but GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English preferred. Candidates should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team Leadership and Management with Priory.

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team alongside our qualified staff, you’ll help to meet the psychological and emotional needs of a diverse group of individuals, with varying degrees of either mental health or physical issues. Every day, you'll make a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK.

It would be ideal if you have around 2-5 years previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

* Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies
* Providing support to achieve everyday goals, including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting
* Manage some behaviours that challenge
* Assist and support in attending medical appointments
* Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being.
* Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
* Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks
* Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
* Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
* Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan

Qualifications and Skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
* Empathy, understanding and patience
* Experience working in a forensic environment
* Experience working as a team leader or in a senior position.
* Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
* Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
* The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
* Competent in verbal and written English

Location Information

Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways. We model our service provision on the NHS secure service specification for medium and low secure services, ensuring our patients are given the highest quality of care to enable quick and smooth transitions into local services, wherever possible.

Disclosure

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
