Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Cleaning Operative to join the Norwich City Service Limited (NCSL) team. If you are highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

About the role:

Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor, the operative is responsible for delivering high-quality specialist cleaning services—including window, environmental, and internal/external cleaning at height—across various locations, in line with client and company policies. The role demands effective communication with customers, timely task completion, and escalation of issues when necessary. Operatives must use equipment correctly and safely, comply with PUWER and Health & Safety regulations, and stay up to date with training and new technologies. They are expected to complete all required documentation, support continuous improvement through personal development, and adhere to company policies on equality, data protection, and statutory obligations. Flexibility is essential, as additional duties may be assigned by management.

The ideal candidate possesses a full driving licence and extensive experience in both traditional and modern window cleaning techniques, including the use of water-fed telescopic poles and purifying systems. They are trained in a wide range of health and safety protocols such as IPAF, PASMA, harness use, working at height, manual handling, and IOSH Working Safely. Familiarity with cleaning machinery like buffers and carpet cleaners, along with BICSc training, supports their ability to perform clinical and specialist cleaning tasks. Strong communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, reliability, and flexibility are essential qualities, backed by a proven track record in similar roles.
