SpR Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Job Purpose
To provide specialist registrar level cover in O&G, helping the NHS Trust maintain service continuity by covering gaps (e.g. due to leave, sickness, rota shortfalls, increased demand). To deliver safe, high quality patient care, participate in emergency and elective work, and support junior staff as required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Clinical Duties
* Participate in obstetric on‑calls: labour ward, emergencies (e.g. haemorrhage, obstetric complications)
* Gynaecological emergencies and acute assessments
* Outpatient clinics: antenatal, postnatal, gynaecology
* Elective and emergency surgery / theatre lists (subject to competency and supervision)
* Ca‑esarean sections, vaginal deliveries as able and per Trust policy
* Participate in maternity assessment units, triage etc.
* On‑call / Shift Work
* Provide on‑call coverage (nights / weekends) according to the rota
* Cover long days / twilight shifts where needed
* Supervision & Teamwork
* Work under Consultant supervision for more complex cases or as per policy
* Support, teach, and supervise more junior doctors and other staff
* Clinical Governance, Audit & Quality Improvement
* Maintain high standards of documentation, record‑keeping
* Participate in local guidelines / protocols, morbidity & mortality reviews
* Engage in audit and quality improvement projects
* Mandatory & Statutory Requirements
* Comply with all hospital / NHS policies (infection control, health & safety etc.)
* Maintain up to date licences, mandatory training, DBS / background checks etc.

Pay: £60.00-£80.00 per hour
