Control Room Operator – Power StationUp to £62,500 + bonus (up to 20%) + benefitsShoreham, South CoastSCINERGY Recruitment are looking for a Control Room Operator / Production Technician to join the operations team at a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station on the south coast.This is a shift-based operational role responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of a modern power station, using both DCS systems and field-based monitoring to optimise performance and ensure plant availability.The role sits within a structured operations team and works closely with the Production Team Leader to deliver day-to-day operations and continuous improvement across the station.Key responsibilities:Operate the plant safely and efficiently in line with operational targets and site proceduresSupport the Production Team Leader in all production activitiesStart, stop and monitor gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, pumps and auxiliary systems via DCSDiagnose plant issues, analyse performance and carry out first-line fault findingConduct operational routines, plant testing and performance checksUndertake maintenance tasks within competence and escalate defects where requiredSupervise contractors and ensure safe working practices on siteSupport implementation of company and station policies and ensure full HSE complianceCarry out safety, behavioural and compliance audits on contractors and site staffCommunicate with management and National Grid to support REMIT obligations and load profile requirementsParticipate in improvement projects and ongoing technical developmentCandidate requirements:Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or similar engineering discipline or willingness to work towards thisAt least 2 years' experience in a relevant industrial or power generation environment (CCGT, CHP, refinery, chemical, etc.)Merchant Navy / Royal Navy engineers considered (Petty Officer / 2nd Engineer level or above with watchkeeping experience)Strong understanding of HSE legislation and safe systems of workAbility to support multi-discipline teams with diagnostics and work planningStrong analytical and fault-finding skills, able to perform under pressureComputer literate with good communication and reporting abilityOrganised, self-motivated and comfortable working on a 12-hour shift patternPackage:Competitive basic salary up to £48,000A shift allowance of £12,500South East allowance of £2,000A 20% bonus opportunityA further 3 yearly rolling bonusPrivate medical insuranceIncome protectionLife assuranceFor further information or a confidential discussion, please contact Steve Utton at SCINERGY Recruitment on 07441 955 901 orTPBN1_UKTJ
