Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will deputise for the Head of Healthcare supporting delivery of strategic goals for the service and those of Feltham A leadership team.
2. The post holder will support leadership of a multidisciplinary team alongside colleagues in Feltham A, subcontracted and other partners/organisations paying special and constant attention to ensuring CNWL and Feltham A YOI staff work in an integrated way to develop a ‘One Team’ approach and actively intervene where silo working practices start to embed.
3. Support the Feltham A HoH and team to provide high quality healthcare services that are constantly reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of children in custody and that includes the involvement of service users and family in planning care and services.
4. Operationally manage designated services within healthcare at Feltham A to ensure an equitable service to that available in the community. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the highest quality, evidence-based services are provided.

5. The post holder will be an experienced healthcare professional who also has excellent staff management skills.
6. They will support the Head of Healthcare Feltham A to manage and develop the Healthcare team to achieve a targeted and appropriate service, delivered in accordance with evidence-based practice and local policies and procedures.
7. The post holder will have direct line management responsibilities for senior staff.
8. The post holder will proactively lead healthcare teams to further develop services and clinical pathways; e.g nurse led minor ailment clinics, sexual health clinics and immunisation programmes.
9. In addition, the post holder will have a key role in implementing the YOI wide health promotion strategy and ‘Positive Health Programme’
10. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Healthcare to develop and implement an effective healthcare Strategy for YOI Feltham A.
11. There will be occasions when the post holder will be expected to deputise for the Head of Healthcare in his/her absence.
