Are you a Field Service Engineer with Particle Characterisation knowledge or similar, looking to work in a well-established company that has been an expert in its technical niche for over 20 years? The company specialises in particle characterisation and material analysis, providing advanced scientific instruments and expert support to clients across pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, material science, and beyond.
This varied and autonomous role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing particle characterisation instruments at customer sites across the UK. You will typically handle three maintenance visits and one repair per week, with 5 to 6 overnight stays per month. You will also provide technical support both on-site and remotely, maintain service records and inventory, and ensure the CRM system is up to date.
This role is suitable for a Field Service Engineer or similar with technical support experience, seeking to apply their skills in a customer-facing environment, gain exposure to advanced scientific instrumentation, and enjoy the independence of a field-based role within a growing company.
The Role:
* Install, maintain, and repair particle characterisation instruments at customer sites across the UK
* Provide remote technical support via phone and email
* Complete preventative maintenance visits, typically three per week, with occasional repairs and UK travel (including overnight stays)
* Maintain accurate service records, manage inventory, and update CRM systems
The Person:
* Background in field service, instrumentation support, or similar technical roles
* Qualification in Engineering, Physics, Life Sciences, or related discipline
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
* Willingness to travel across the UK
* Full UK driving licence
