NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.
General Medicine (South Sector) offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and the West of Scotland populations. The inpatient service is mainly based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) and Gartnavel General Hospital. Outpatient services are available at Gartnavel General Hospital, New Victoria ACH, and QEUH.
South Sector General Medicine manages all Respiratory Physiology services citywide.
The postholder will be responsible for administrative services within the Respiratory and Cardiac Physiology sub-specialties. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing designated specialty waiting lists and ensuring compliance with Treatment Time Guarantees (TTG) and waiting time targets.
2. Leading in administration and waiting list training, managing clerical staff to adhere to waiting list procedures aligned with ‘New Ways’ procedures and the Patients’ Rights Act.
3. Providing effective administrative support to clinical services within the area.
4. Line managing designated specialty administrative staff.
5. Seeking an enthusiastic Administration/Waiting List Manager with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, eager to develop and support innovative service improvements and foster a sustainable workforce.
6. Working effectively under pressure, managing deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities. Experience in waiting list and staff management is essential.
The location of this post will be between Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital.
