[Up to c. £275k Comp Package | Flexible Working Options - On-Site Preference]
Do you thrive at the intersection of RF engineering and high-performance networking? Our client, a high-frequency crypto trading firm operating across global markets, is on the lookout for a Microwave Network Engineer to design, fine-tune, and maintain their ultra-low-latency connectivity stack. If you're passionate about shaving microseconds off network paths and solving technical challenges at speed, this is your chance to work with some of the brightest minds in the trading space...
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain microwave-based networks that connect trading systems with the lowest possible latency
* Conduct RF planning, site assessments, and link budget analysis to optimise wireless performance
* Configure and support high-performance switching and routing infrastructure (BGP, OSPF, multicast)
* Partner with engineers, developers, and trading desks to tune network performance and align strategies with system demands
* Carry out latency profiling, real-time packet analysis, and performance tuning using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump
* Automate monitoring and diagnostics with scripting and tooling (Python, Bash, Ansible)
* Ensure compliance with global spectrum regulations, telecom standards, and licensing frameworks
* Enhance reliability through redundancy planning, failover strategies, and active time synchronisation (PTP, GPS)
What You Bring...
* 3-6 years’ experience in low-latency network engineering, ideally within trading, telecoms, or large-scale production environments
* Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing protocols, and hardware vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista)
* Strong foundation in microwave or RF engineering, including antenna alignment, interference analysis, and link margin tuning
* Experience with time sync technologies such as PTP, GPS, or atomic clock systems
* Proven track record with packet capture tools, performance benchmarking, and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with cloud networking in AWS or GCP environments
* (Preferred) Experience with dark fibre, DWDM, or proprietary RF infrastructure
* (Preferred) Exposure to trading systems, high-frequency infrastructure, or exchange connectivity
