Dalhousie Medical Practice is inviting applications for an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our team as a 6 session salaried GP, commencing July 2026 but start date is negotiable for the right candidate. Candidates must be able to work a Monday or Friday.
Based in the heart of Bonnyrigg town, we are a friendly, hardworking, and supportive team with a patient list size of 9,700 and growing steadily. Our team comprises 5 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 Practice Nurse, 2 Healthcare Assistants and an Administration team working to optimise our workflow reduction systems and triaging our patients in line with practice guidance. The Practice is managed by a forward-thinking management team who put work-life balance and respecting each other at the heart of our team ethos. Our GP template is modelled on the BMA Safe Workload guidance.
We work in the spacious purpose-built Bonnyrigg Health Centre, which has a wide range of services onsite to support our patients access care, as well as supporting our Practice staff to develop strong partnership working and peer support.
Dalhousie Medical Practice works collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team colleagues and has dedicated support through CTAC Phlebotomists, Pharmacists, Primary Care Mental Health Nursing, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and Treatment Room services. We also have District Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwifery teams based at the Health Centre as well as Wellbeing Service, Hospital at Home, Learning Disabilities, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Care of the Elderly and the Dementia Team.
We are an accredited training practice delivering a wide variety of medical training for 2nd and 6th Year Medical Students, Foundation Year Doctors, GPST1 and GPST3 trainees. We are also accredited for GP Retainer Scheme/GP-SIP. All staff are given dedicated supervisory time so we can provide excellent training to our trainees and students.
