We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile digital service for a Central Government client.
This role will play a key part in shaping the vision, roadmap and delivery approach for both an internal case management system and a citizen-facing digital service, ensuring alignment with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards. You will own the problem space, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to define and deliver an MVP that meets genuine user needs while supporting wider strategic objectives.
The Role
As Product Manager, you will lead product thinking from early discovery through to live service, ensuring teams focus on solving the right problems and delivering measurable outcomes.
You will:
* Define and evolve the product vision, mission and roadmap
* Own the problem space, ensuring solutions meet real user needs
* Prioritise the product backlog based on research, insight and stakeholder input
* Work within GDS Service Standards and agile delivery frameworks
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering and user research
* Shape MVP scope and delivery strategy
* Establish product success metrics and track progress
* Engage stakeholders and drive alignment across delivery teams
* Support continuous improvement through feedback and iteration
* Contribute to the development of more junior team members where required
What we’re looking for
We are seeking experienced Product Managers who are comfortable working in complex, regulated environments and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
* Experience delivering digital products aligned to GDS Service Standards
* Proven track record working through Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live
* Strong understanding of user-centred design principles
* Experience defining product vision and roadmap in complex environments
* Ability to prioritise effectively and focus teams on delivering MVP value
* Experience working with multidisciplinary agile teams
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience managing complexity within large organisations
Desirable experience
* Central Government or Public Sector delivery experience
* Experience working on case management systems or workflow platforms
* Experience supporting service assessments
* Experience mentoring Associate Product Managers or Product Owners
* Passion for building services that improve outcomes for users
Location
This role requires attendance on site in Newcastle 2 days every other week for the duration of the engagement.
