The Practice Educator within the Research and Innovation directorate functions as an autonomous professional, supporting research learning across the Trust.
The primary purpose of this role is to enhance research education and support professional development across the directorate, the Trust, and our external partner organisations.
You will deliver educational support to both clinical and non‑clinical teams, working closely with clinical education teams, ward managers, preceptors, and external partners.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated registered nurse with a strong interest in clinical education. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of clinical environments, build networks with external partners, and contribute to developing the future nursing and research workforce.
You will join a passionate and supportive team of nurse educators who will encourage your ongoing professional growth.
Applicants should have substantial clinical experience at Band 5 or Band 6 level, along with demonstrable experience in supporting, developing, and educating of healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
Be a highly visible clinical role model, working alongside staff in clinical practice.
Work clinically to maintain own knowledge, skills, and clinical credibility, demonstrating high standards of practice and clinical expertise in the care of children, young people, and their families
Be prepared to work alongside colleagues in non-nursing roles to understand the requirements of different professions/areas.
Work with education leads, managers, and supervisors to establish mechanisms for enhancing, developing, and assessing the quality of non-nursing placement learning
Co-ordinate and deliver work-based learning and other CPD programmes as required
Advise individuals and teams about educational opportunities
Utilise, develop, and review tools to audit and evaluate educational and professional practice and education programmes/materials
To review course evaluations and analyse results.
Represent the GOSH Learning Academy at Trust‑wide and external meetings, and contribute to Trust‑wide quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain a good working relationship with the academic partners, professional bodies, and organisations
