Offer description

To be part of a team providing front line delivery of maintenance, defect & breakdown response, and pre-planned maintenance tasks.

To complete new and alteration works within the post holders' skills and experience both during in and outside of normal working hours.

The objective of the role is to contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, and economical day-to-day maintenance, including new and alteration works, to ensure the safety of all the trust's patients, staff, members of the public, and contractors.


Main duties of the job

Some of the main duties include, but are not limited to, the following; the postholder may be required to carry out other duties commensurate with similar craftsperson roles:

* Utilise Mechanical / Plumbing / Carpentry / Building experience to complete work tasks on site.
* Collaborate with all trades staff (joiners, plumbers, electricians, fitters) in undertaking a comprehensive planned maintenance programme in accordance with statutory, mandatory, and economic requirements.
* Undertake maintenance tasks independently, such as repairing building fabric, walls, replacing bed stops, handrails, building new partition walls, removing old cupboards and worktops, making good repairs, painting, and roof repairs.
* May require future training to erect and dismantle access scaffolds and platforms, including mobile platforms, to assist with work programmes.
* May require future training to access confined spaces for maintenance within those areas.
* Maintain cleanliness of plant rooms and workshops.
* Perform day-to-day maintenance tasks.
* Support minor works projects within the postholder's skills and experience.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a Disclosure check for any criminal convictions via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 per year. This position also includes a £3,500 RRP bonus.
