About the Role:
The Head of HR will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, generalist HR service across the organisation. This includes providing day-to-day HR advice and support, building robust relationships across all levels, overseeing onboarding and induction processes for new staff, leading the monthly payroll process, designing and supporting training and development initiatives, coordinating the annual performance and salary review processes, advising on and helping resolve employee relations matters, reviewing, developing, and communicating HR policies and ensuring legal compliance, creating and implementing a people strategy that champions engagement, inclusion, and retention, and developing strategies for succession planning and career progression.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of UK employment law and be confident in dealing with complex ER cases. They will also have strong leadership and first-class communication and relationship management skills, as well as a proven track record of driving positive organisational change and workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver a comprehensive HR service: Providing day-to-day HR advice and support to employees, building robust relationships across all levels, and ensuring that HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
* Oversee onboarding and induction processes: Ensuring that new employees receive a warm welcome and are properly inducted into the organisation's culture, values, and practices.
* Lead the monthly payroll process: Coordinating the timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits to employees.
* Design and support training and development initiatives: Creating training programmes that meet the needs of employees at all levels, from new starters to senior leaders.
* Coordinate the annual performance and salary review processes: Facilitating regular reviews of employee performance and pay to ensure that they are fair, transparent, and based on objective criteria.
* Advise on and help resolve employee relations matters: Providing guidance and support to employees and managers on employment law, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions.
* Review, develop, and communicate HR policies: Ensuring that HR policies and procedures are up to date, compliant with relevant laws and regulations, and communicated effectively to employees.
* Create and implement a people strategy: Developing a strategic plan that champions engagement, inclusion, and retention, and ensures that the organisation's people are aligned with its goals and objectives.
* Develop strategies for succession planning and career progression: Identifying future talent and developing plans to retain and develop key employees.
