Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time | Flexible First options available The role As a Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP), you’ll be responsible for partnering with project directors, delivery teams and other support functions on several transmission infrastructure mega projects (SSEN -T ASTI and LOTI projects) and/or portfolios of price control baseline projects & customer connections works. You’ll act as the key financial advisor, driving commercial decision-making, governance, performance tracking and risk management and will work closely with colleagues in FP&A and Financial Control to deliver accurate financial insights, forecasts, and key project outputs. Each SFBP will have responsibility for a portfolio of projects and schemes that total between £5bn to £10bn in value. This role requires a combination of technical financial expertise, commercial acumen, regulatory knowledge and the ability to influence, guide and constructively challenge senior stakeholders. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting delivery of SSEN Transmission’s investment pipeline and 2030 net zero targets. You will Be a trusted advisor to Project Directors and Teams by providing strategic and commercial financial guidance and constructive challenge to drive performance and optimise outcomes. Act as the Finance Lead on Regulatory submissions, Project Review Boards, and other Governance and Performance forums. Provide accurate financial insights to Project Directors and Project teams to support decision-making, track financial performance and drive positive action. Lead finance in securing regulatory funding and identify risks while optimising opportunities. Work with the FP&A team to ensure that formal budgets and forecasts (cash and VOWD) are correctly & accurately captured in the finance budget system and all central budget reporting requirements are met. You have Significant experience in a senior finance position, ideally with large capital projects or infrastructure investment experience, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. The ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in the business and within the finance function, with experience of leading on working in high value cross functional projects. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders. A strong understanding of commercial risks impacting major capital projects and the ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations to influence decision-making. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and financial governance related to RIIO price controls or similar environments (desirable but not essential).
