The training starts in January 2026 at the University of Exeter. We are looking for exceptional individuals who are dedicated to working with children and young people and are keen to take up this brilliant opportunity of a permanent post with a year of training at Exeter fully funded. This is a training role to obtain a PGDip/GradDip in Psychological Therapies Practice (Child, Young People and Families) in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The post-holder will work within the Bristol, North Somerset & South Glos CAMHS service at Avon & Wiltshire Partnership Trust, providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role at the University of Exeter.
This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide interventions based on Psychological Therapies core principles and an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder would be expected to attend and fulfil all the requirements of the course to then be able to work in the organisation at the end of the course.

Whilst training
In order to meet accreditation level you will complete 200 hours of clinical practice over the course of the year. You would be working with children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties such anxiety disorders and low mood.
The course is assessed via both clinical and academic work, including the following:

videotaped assessment (CTS-R)
case reports
case presentations
supervision reports
reflective logs
Once qualified
You will join a CAMHS team and conduct assessments for children and young people, case coordination and intervention as well as inputting into the specialist CBT clinic into the team
