Who we are looking for
An Infrastructure Engineer will use your diverse technology skills to support, maintain, and manage the technologies supported by the infrastructure systems team.
The team handles the lifecycle management of compute and storage platforms that support our products and services.
The environment includes bare metal, virtualised, and containerised Windows and Linux workloads on private and public cloud.
As an engineer with experience in support, management, and exposure across various technologies, you will help improve operational efficiency, participate in business continuity exercises, troubleshoot issues, resolve incidents, and build systems, with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis, which may include weekend in-office presence. This role qualifies for our hybrid work-from-home policy.
Preferred skills and experience
* Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat derivatives) and Windows system administration.
* Experience with virtual infrastructure tools such as VROps, vCenter, and vSphere.
* Knowledge of file and object storage technologies is advantageous.
* Fundamental understanding of networking, load balancing, enterprise FC storage, tiering, and virtualization.
* Self-motivated to investigate and resolve issues across systems.
* Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
* Logical problem-solving skills under pressure.
* Effective communication of technical issues.
Main Responsibilities
* Collaborate with specialists to fix issues and enhance platforms.
* Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
* Support, maintain, build, and manage platforms, systems, and storage.
* Define and improve system monitoring using modern tools and practices.
* Mentor and coach other engineers to share knowledge and skills.
* Participate in an on-call support rota for technical escalation.
