SRM are pleased to be supporting a infrastructure/construction business that deliver technically complex and high-value programmes internationally to recruit a Financial Controller for the UK business. This will be a "hands on" role working in a small team (under 10) in Central London, but will support on international infrastructure and developments from London so were looking for someone that will thrive in that setup/environment.
We would expect this person to be Finalist through to newly qualified in terms of level, and likely trained in industry (ACCA/CIMA)
What you will do:
* Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process
* Perform monthly analysis of the company’s performance by reviewing monthly group wide variances against actuals and budgets
* Be involved to the implementation of new financial KPIs and reporting tools for the group
* Collaborate with operational/commercial teams in the use of business management and performance monitoring tools
* Be a core participant in delivering a swift and accurate monthly close process.
* Improve monthly budget control and provide clear explanations each month
* Contribute to activity reporting and performance monitoring (P&L and cash flow) for projects
* Monitor and control project costs while ensuring compliance with the approved budget
What we are looking for:
* A qualified ACCA/CIMA or a candidate with, probably, a minimum of 4-5 years professional finance experience likely now at/around Finalist level
* Experience of working within the construction/development space (highly desirable)
* A candidate that will thrive/relish working in a small team environment in our clients London office of around 10 people, most of whom are operational teams
* Demonstrable experience in owning and delivering a comprehensive set of management accountant (P&L, Balance Sheet, Monthly variances etc)
