Senior Infrastructure Engineer | Hybrid / Lincoln | £55,000 – £65,000
Peaple Talent is partnering with a leading professional services organisation seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take technical ownership of their core IT environment and play a key role in shaping future technology direction.
You’ll work across a mature infrastructure landscape, ensuring secure, stable, and high-performing systems while leading the organisation’s ongoing transformation into Microsoft Azure.
This is a hands-on, senior-level technical role, ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical work, influencing best practice, and driving modernisation without people-management responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
* Manage and optimise infrastructure, networking, servers, storage, backups, and security
* Support and drive the move to Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
* Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance
* Define and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures
* Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
* Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity initiatives
* Perform regular system updates, patching, and maintenance — including occasional out-of-hours work
* Work closely with stakeholders and vendors to deliver robust solutions
What You’ll Bring
* 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with strong senior-level experience
* Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud migration projects
* Solid understanding of networking, virtualisation, storage, and security
* Familiarity with ITIL and best-practice service management
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to system reliability and improvement
* Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, etc.) are desirable
Why It’s a Great Fit
You’ll have the autonomy to influence infrastructure direction, drive cloud adoption, and own high-impact technical work. It’s a chance to be the senior technical backbone of a growing, forward-thinking organisation.
