Infrastructure Engineer – 3rd Line – Hybrid – Telford or Shropshire – up to 46k with excellent benefits.
Infrastructure Engineer required to work on an enterprise estate to provide 3rd line Infrastructure engineering experience supporting on project based work and work for core systems and services across the group.
As an infrastructure engineer you will work within a highly skilled team of technology experts to deliver excellent quality IT services, predominantly using technologies such as Windows Server, VMWare, Storage (NetApp) and be at the beginning of a Cloud Journey.
As a 3rd Line infrastructure engineer you will work on key technical projects, being responsible for ensuring high standards of capacity, continuity, and availability of all systems within the data centres.
As a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer on this enterprise estate, you will be responsible for administrating, monitoring and maintenance of data centre equipment such as servers, storage, etc.
As the Infrastructure Engineer you will run regular system tests, installations and repairs and create the required protocols and root cause analysis whilst ensuring that critical data is kept secure, and all administrative rules and processes are followed.
Key skills & experience for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:
* Experience in the areas of server infrastructure, storage, and virtualisation.
* Experience with Windows Server and VMWare
* Good knowledge around and storage technology would be useful - NetApp.
* Experience with backup technologies would be very beneficial, e.g. Veeam, Commvault etc.
* Any cloud knowledge would be a bonus – Azure.
* Experience with data centre networking and security.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to lead complex installations of systems and services.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience of complex installations and larger infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to lead tasks and team projects engaging stakeholders where required.
