Little Explorers Day Nursery is based within the grounds of Queens Hospital, RM7. We offer childcare and education for children from 3 months to 5 years of age for staff that work at BHRUT.
About the role
We have achieved an OFSTED rating of ‘Good’ in 2023 and are looking for an experienced, keen, knowledgeable NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) to join our established Day Nursery team for a part‑time 32.5‑hour per week role.
Responsibilities
* Work as a level 2 qualified nursery assistant, creating a happy, safe, and stimulating environment for all children up to 5 years of age.
* Support the team to meet the individual needs of each child.
* Take on key‑worker responsibilities, including compiling progress reports, record‑keeping and planning for key children.
* Undertake domestic duties to maintain hygiene standards and cleanliness, adhering to all policies and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Work shifts from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, as part of the nursery’s shift pattern.
Qualifications and Skills
* NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
* Experience working in an Early Years setting such as a pre‑school or day nursery.
* Proactive, good team player with the ability to work on one’s own initiative.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Specialised knowledge and experience in all areas of the EYFS.
* Sound knowledge of safeguarding within Early Years.
