Job Title: Assistant Planner Location: Dublin Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning and development consultancy in their search for an Assistant Planner to join their well-established team in Dublin. This respected firm has been a key player in shaping Ireland’s urban environment for over 20 years, delivering expert planning and development solutions across sectors such as urban regeneration, residential, infrastructure, and tourism. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant Planner to work on a wide variety of projects and gain valuable hands-on experience within a supportive consultancy setting. You’ll contribute to planning applications, research, and client communications, while learning from experienced professionals who are passionate about mentoring and development. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of planning applications and supporting documentation. Conduct planning research, site appraisals, and development assessments. Contribute to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other planning documents. Support senior team members in liaising with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders. Stay informed about planning legislation, policies, and best practice to ensure the highest standards of work. Requirements Degree or Master’s in Town Planning or a related discipline. Working towards membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and/or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Some previous experience (including placements or internships) in planning or a related field is desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to project work. Why Apply?
