Referee Requirements
* One of your referees should be the Medical Director / Chief Medical Officer of your most recent NHS employer (or their nominated deputy), or equivalent for applicants from outside of the NHS.
For applicants from outside of the NHS, referees to validate a period of three consecutive years of employment.
For internal candidates, your referees should be your Clinical Director and Clinical Lead.
For applicants who are still in a training post, or have completed training within the past year and have not worked in a non-training NHS role since then, a reference from EACH of your two most recent Educational Supervisors.
About the Role
We are recruiting for Consultant Anaesthetists who share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
The core component of this post is to provide anaesthetic cover for a variety of surgical services; if a consultant has a special interest then the Job plan will be equally split with the specialities.
The post holder must understand the significant ongoing changes in the Trust’s services and be prepared to take an active part in the change program.
A standard full time job plan will contain 10 programmed activities which could be filled by a variety of options from currently uncovered lists and flexible cover for consultant leave.
A programmed activity will normally have a timetable value of 4 hours and a full-time consultant will normally devote 8.5 programmed activities to direct clinical care (including the 1PA for on-call activity). The remaining programmed activities will be devoted to supporting professional activities.
