I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent reputation. This is an exciting, newly created role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a stable client base and a consistent track record of growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and top clinical experts, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
The role is an individual sales contributor position. It is remote, based from home, focusing on the UK/western European market. You will be responsible for acquiring new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across therapeutic areas like oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Achieving sales and business development targets; developing strategies for target markets.
2. Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs from qualified potential clients.
3. Using Salesforce to track client activities and update opportunities.
4. Leading the sales process for generated and received leads.
5. Managing proposal development to align with client expectations.
6. Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
7. Providing input to marketing strategies supporting business development.
8. Contributing to sales targets and strategies based on industry knowledge.
9. Supporting sales activities with resources and pre-sales efforts.
10. Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions.
11. Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities.
12. Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities.
