At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we are dedicated to providing outstanding care and support to patients and their families. Our retail operations play a vital role in raising funds to support our services, and we are proud of the professionalism and high standards our teams uphold.
We are seeking a Van Driver to join our bank of casual workers. You will provide a high-quality delivery and collection service for the Hospice, ensuring excellent customer service.
This is a physically demanding but rewarding role, where you’ll also help raise awareness of the Hospice cause.
About The Role
* Greeting customers and donors in a manner which positively reflects the high standards and reputation of the Hospice
* Transport stock between Hospice shops
* Effectively plan and manage own routes to ensure the numbers of deliveries to the shops are maximised and conducted safely
* Accurately complete necessary paperwork in relation to collections
* Accurately record fuel purchases
* Ensuring safe and proper use and day to day maintenance of van and equipment
* As required, work in the Warehouse or support other shops in the Hospice's portfolio
* Help in the transportation of equipment to and from shops and events as required
* To adhere to safe working practices
About You
* A full driving licence and experience driving a 3.5 tonne Luton van
* Good knowledge of safe manual handling techniques
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to plan routes and complete paperwork accurately
* Knowledge of the Pontefract and Five Towns area (desirable)
* Experience Supervising Others (desirable)
