Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to assist in the instruction of students, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all children can thrive.
Our client is seeking a long term placement to ensure continuity.
Duties
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and engaging students in learning activities.
* Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met.
* Help create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
* Supervise students during playtime and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Collaborate with teachers to develop tailored educational plans for students requiring additional support.
* Maintain clear communication with teachers regarding student progress and any concerns that arise.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to working with children, particularly those with disabilities or special needs.
What We Are Looking For
* A friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning.
* Experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar setting is an advantage.
* Knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) support strategies is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) or a willingness to train.
