Maths and English Engagement and Support Officer

£24,676 pro rata (£20,737 per annum)
Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths and English Engagement and Support Officer to join our dynamic, collaborative team. This new, pivotal role focuses on empowering learners to reach their full potential by creating an inclusive environment, identifying and addressing unmet needs, and removing barriers to success throughout their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. You will work closely with the Director of Curriculum to Manage a caseload of learners across Maths and English courses.
2. Act as the first point of contact for learner engagement and pastoral support.
3. Monitor attendance, liaise with parents, and represent learners at meetings.
4. Provide pastoral and emotional support, including safeguarding referrals where necessary.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external organisations to secure appropriate support for learners.
