GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a growing and well-established organisation. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for someone to join their team as an Estimator on a full-time, permanent contract.
Our client is continuing to expand their operations and is looking to recruit an experienced Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business offering long-term employment and full training.
The successful Estimator will receive an annual salary of £40,000.
The hours for this position are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:00 (37 hours per week)
Estimator main duties:
* Review Customer RFQs to ensure all relevant drawings, specifications and commercial details are received; request missing information where necessary
* Calculate developed lengths for tubing and verify technical requirements
* Prepare accurate quotations using the “Quote Customers” system, agreeing margins with the Managing Director
* Issue RFQs to suppliers, evaluate returned pricing and re-cost parts accordingly
* Agree lead times with the Managing Director and NPI Manager, and include within customer quotations
* Complete quotation templates, submit for approval and log all quotations accurately
* Manage customer orders: confirm drawings and prices match quotations, re-quote where required, and enter orders into the system
* Handle Purchase Order amendments and cancellations, including claims for WIP, stock and tooling
* Ensure tooling costs are correctly allocated and quoted, including unique and shared tooling rules
* Monitor profitability, re-cost parts when required and negotiate price increases with customers
* Support general price increase programmes and assist other departments during quieter periods
Estimator desired skills and experience:
* Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy
* Proven estimating experience within a manufacturing environment
* Ability to interpret engineering and component drawings
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong IT skills and ability to work within internal systems
* Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure

* Report unsafe practices or hazards to the Company Safety Representative
* Comply with all health and safety instructions and risk reduction measures
