Responsibilities
* The Healthcare Area Manager will manage Optical and Pharmacy in-store departments, ensuring they are safe, legal and profitable. They will become the subject matter expert in Pharmacy & Optical operations, overseeing the implementation of the corporate strategy through direct line management of Healthcare Professionals.
* Support the development of divisional and regional operational strategies, driving the delivery of defined Optical and Pharmacy KPIs by creating robust action plans, coaching through to implementation and holding the team accountable for performance outputs.
* Identify opportunities for growth across Optical and Pharmacy through regular performance reviews and adapting to changes in the local market.
* Complete regular commercial and compliance-focused visits across Optical and Pharmacy units, identifying opportunities, resolving issues or escalating to stakeholders as appropriate.
* Manage end-to-end resourcing to ensure Optical and Pharmacy departments serve customers effectively; manage resourcing KPIs including contract reviews, recruitment, employment costs and locum management with performance feedback.
* Act as a key business partner to Optical and Pharmacy Superintendents, liaising with store teams to assist in risk assessment and action completion from incident reviews.
* Engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders; adapt communication styles and demonstrate credibility in delivery.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
* An inspirational leader with a history of coaching and managing change.
* Commercial acumen with a track record of interpreting data and delivering KPIs.
* Ability to prioritise and manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous leadership experience managing teams through the line in a retail or operational context.
Desirable Skills
* Previous Area/Field management experience across retail or healthcare.
* Understanding and knowledge of the relevant subject matter area.
