Job Description

New Directions Education is delighted to be recruiting a dedicated and motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work full time in an outstanding primary school in Aigburth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing school that is committed to excellence and to supporting high-achieving pupils in reaching greater depth across the curriculum.

This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about learning, enjoys working with motivated pupils, and is keen to contribute to a culture of high expectations and academic success.

The Role:

5. Provide targeted support for high-achieving pupils, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, to help them achieve greater depth.
6. Work closely with class teachers to deliver extension activities and deepen learning across core and foundation subjects.
7. Support pupils with problem-solving, reasoning, and independent learning skills.
8. Contribute to a positive, aspirational classroom environment.
9. Assist with lesson preparation, assessment support, and classroom organisation.

The Ideal Candidate:

10. Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
11. Experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting is desirable.
12. A strong understanding of how to challenge and extend high-achieving learners.
13. Confident, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
14. Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already completed.
15. Able to provide employment references covering the last 5 years.
